  • IFC Green Bay Butkus has the genetic traits that I would like to perpetuate. He has everything I want in future beagles. Butkus is a beautiful black blanketed, true 13" hound, with a white collar. He has a set of strong, straight legs that are covered with ticks, giving him that "tuff" beagle look. He has good tight feet that are built to work day after day. Butkus has a deep chest that propels him through any snow conditions. He has long, well proportioned ears, a houndy head, with a perfect scissors bite. His voice is dominate in the pack, and exciting to listen to while hunting.

When choosing a stud you should pay close attention to the studs parents and grandparents, as they have a tremendous impact on the traits your pup will possess.
Butkus sire, IFC Green Bay Shooter, accomplished everything you would want in a beagle and more. A few of Shooters accomplishments are: entered in five snow trials, winning all five! Shooter also won four out of five trails in Canada. In the trail he did not win , he was awarded second place.
IFC Melanson's Ranger Dan, was Better Beagling's Magazines Top Producing Sire six years in a row! Shooters dam, FC Pine Acres Molly was Better Beagling Magazines Top Producing Dam for five years in a row! Butkus dam, FC Green Bay Wiley was the fastest, cleanest hound we have ever seen run a rabbit.
Wiley dominated trails from the snow and ice in the North to the heat and sand in the South. Wiley was Better Beagling Magazine 13" female Hound of the Year in 2006. See Butkus' pedigree above. All six hounds in the first two generations are field Champions, International Field Champions, and even a National Large Pack Champion!
FC Busca Bound Minca Marge was the NMHA's Outstanding Hound in 2007.

Butkus has the power! He has the nose power of Shooter, the speed of Wiley, and the brains of both. These are words of Joe Kuklenski of Green Bay Kennels. Thank you for selling us such a great hound.
